A sturdy, well-thought-out, high-end laptop.
The nice wide-angle lens on the laptop camera for those face-to-face meetings. My old laptop was always looking up my nose…
Built for graphic designers, video editors, creatives, animators, etc. Seriously, if you use pallets and your screen is overwhelmed with toolbars, you’re going to love this laptop. The dual screens are amazing and super helpful.
Bright, vivid color.
Quiet, cool, super-fast, no problems with overheating – and I’ve put this thing through Hell, too.
The power brick is a BRICK! This thing must weigh 20 pounds and is massive. I get it – a beast of a computer needs a beast of a power adapter. But YEESH! Good luck lugging this thing around… Fortunately, this is a simple fix. I bought two power adapters – one for work, one for at home. Boom. Problem solved.
Also, the outside shell picks up fingerprints like nobody’s business. Could we not find a smudge-resistant material for the shell of this thing? Seriously, you will not be able to avoid the fingerprint smudges. The inside screens however are pretty resilient to smudges and smears, so that’s good. It’s just the outside shell that always looks like I’ve been handling it after eating a bucket of fried chicken.
These are all minor offenses. I seriously love this laptop.
Overall Review: From a technical aspect, obviously this laptop is amazing. Fast, solid, sturdy, quiet, all the things you’d expect from a high-end laptop. And yes, the dual touch screens are seriously cool and very useful. Watch any YouTube review of this thing and you’ll start sweating with anticipation. But what I found truly amazing and honestly unexpected was the incredible Asus Customer Support. I had a “user-error” issue when I first got it and needed a bit of help, so I called up Asus – and the support tech was super friendly, super helpful, and got me up and running quickly. I’ve owned MacBook Pros and Dells – this is my second Asus. After this experience, I will probably only buy Asus for the foreseeable future.

Two screens open up many possibilities. I do a lot of photoshop work and I love to be able to put tool menus on the 2nd monitor and open up the main monitor. Having access to more real estate to put charts, newsfeeds and info is priceless. Minor, no real pgup/pgdn keys. You need to hold the Fn key + down arrow to PgUp or pgdn. Another set of USB ports would have been nice so to not having to use or carry a hub. Not really a con for me but no SD port, just noticed that feature, not on the computer.I use to love the documentation I got from ASUS, not anymore. Even their online manual IMHO is substandard. This is my 2nd Zenbook Pro with a 4K touch/monitor. I got my 1st one almost 4 years ago so I have some idea of how to handle 4K monitor issues. With that said, This 4K monitor buried my old laptop 4K. The video is better than I could have wished for. I’m keeping the brightness at about 50% for normal use. It’s still brighter than my older system. I’m able to use XPlane11 with reasonable HDR settings and using both screens in extended mode, getting ~60fps. The heat has not been an issue under normal use. If you are an all-day game player then I’d say buy a different laptop. After an hour with XPlane, it got warm but not hot. I’m sure you could get it hot with some modern games. I like the keyboard position.
Bottom line, best laptop I’ve ever owned. So it heavy, the reality is 1lb more than my current laptop but a smaller footprint.
I’d buy again.
SSD access from the USB ports using A CORSAIR GTX 256g 350-390MB’s moving large files.

The unboxing was very nice. I had to re-box it due to my wife not getting the full experience of opening the lid correctly…. 🙂
Everything worked flawlessly after the required first 3-hour charge.Very fast boot times.Nice tutorial for some of the MANY options the laptop/notebook and software package installed.
My wife was very impressed with it.
The pen which came with the unit does not have the ‘find my pen’ option, which leads me to believe it was switched with a different pen. Even the documentation shows a different pen. I cannot express my frustration with how many times my wife asked me why the ‘find my pen’ option does not work.
The Zenbook asks permission to install and ASUS update, but upon granting permission, nothing happens. I navigated to Intel and installed the DSP programs which had 3 driver updates ready to install. Not sure if the 2 incidents are related, but I am thinking they possibly are related.
The unit is quite heavy for a notebook. If it were accidentally dropped, it would not be a pretty sight.
The battery life for such a powerful notebook is quite short but more than ample for simple programs like Facebook or surfing the web.
Overall, the Zenbook Pro Duo is an excellent product.
I would easily recommend this to a friend.
The tutorial was a great start for learning the numerous option available. I do not think there would be much more one could do to improve upon what is provided.
It was not my intention, but I did get many kudos from my wife for the gift.

ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX581, – This Laptop offers the Professional unparalleled convenience regardless of location.
15.6″ 4K UHD NanoEdge Bezel Touch, – Expansive screen with outstanding color and depth; it will pull you in and capture your imagination with the possibilities.
Intel Core i9-9980HK, – This opens a new world of speed and excitement for the rapid execution of labor-intensive projects that would slow to a crawl with previous processors.
32 GB RAM, 1 TB PCIe SSD, – Offers plenty of room for multiple programs and files required for a complete package of output; video editing, 3-D rendering, and printing.
GeForce RTX 2060, – The video output will spoil you and bring disappointment with all of your other devices; I searched for ways to use this graphic engine with my collection.
Innovative ScreenPad Plus, – See below – I have nothing good to say!
Windows 10 Pro – UX581GV-XB94T, – Tries in every way to make your life easier, so that work seems like play; makes you wonder, “Why couldn’t it have always been this way?”
Celestial Blue, – What other color would you expect? Given my brief time with this new machine, a perfect match with the Other World experience.

Innovative ScreenPad Plus, – Well, this is the ‘fly in the ointment’; after just three days of perfect operation, this feature failed completely and regardless of what I did, following the advice of everyone that I could contact: online forums, help desk, chat rooms, manufacturers helplines – NOTHING HAS HELPED. It is still refusing to work!

If you would be satisfied with some percent of your NEW purchase operating as advertised; I would recommend this excellent Laptop to you. However, if you like me are not satisfied with just a portion of your NEW purchase operating as advertised – then this Laptop is NOT for you.
As you may guess – NO, I would NOT purchase this Laptop a second time.
I would change the expectations of prospective buyers to experimental, cutting-edge, explorers with a handbook of possible alternatives, should options become necessary and warn everyone that this release contains a possible challenge: and should they choose to accept this mission, that the company will disavow all knowledge.
